Abstract: Granulomatous lobular mastitis(GLM) is a benign breast disease for which the etiology and pathogenesis have not yet been elucidated.It often presents as a single painful mass on one side of the breast.Erythema nodosum is typically a subcutaneous nodule of red tenderness in the lower extremities,which can coexist with GLM as an extra-mammary symptom.This phenomenon is relatively rare.Erythema nodosum associated with GLM may have some special clinical features.This article reviews the diagnosis and treatment progress of GLM with erythema nodosum.
