Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of different nerve blocks on the prognosis of patients with pulmonary nodule undergoing video-assisted thoracic surgery. Methods The clinical data of patients with pulmonary nodule undergoing video assisted thoracic surgery from June to December 2020 in Union Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology were reviewed. The relationship between different nerve blocks and the prognosis of patients were studied. Results The postoperative hospitalization time of patients with nerve block(3(2,7) days) was significantly shortened compared with patients without nerve block[5(3,9)days,P<0.05].Time spending in postanesthesia care unit for patients with preoperative nerve block(46(35,58) min) was significantly shorter than patients with postoperative nerve block[59(47,73) min),P<0.05],however there was no difference in postoperative hospitalization time between the two groups. There was also no significant difference in postoperative hospitalization time among patients with various types of nerve blocks(P>0.05). Conclusion Nerve blocks can significantly shorten the hospitalization time of patients with pulmonary nodule undergoing video assisted thoracic surgery and accelerate the postoperative rehabilitation of patients.
