Abstract: With the rise of highthroughput sequencing and metagenomics,the esophageal microbiome is becoming a hot research field.Numerous studies have shown that complex microbial flora is colonized in esophagus,and its composition changes with the occurrence and development of esophageal diseases.This article will summarize the microbiological characteristics of the esophagus under the normal physiology and disease state,and provide reference significance for further exploring the potential mechanism,diagnosis and treatment of esophageal diseases.
