Abstract: Oligometastatic prostate cancer is the intermediate state of cancer between localized disease and widespread metastases.Optimizing the treatment strategy of this malignancy is always the concerns from the clinic.It's controversial whether surgery could benefit overall survival of the patients with oligometastatic prostate cancer,however,retrospective and population-based studies support a role for radical prostatectomy.Thus,we discuss the definition of oligometastases and current evidence base for primary tumor directed cytoreductive surgery.
