Abstract: The incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer in China are on the rise.According to the 2015 China Cancer Statistics，the incidence and mortality of colon cancer are ranked third in malignant tumors worldwide.The clinical manifestations of colon cancer are related to the pathological type and location of the tumor，and the left colon cancer is characterized by intestinal obstruction，diarrhea，constipation and bloody stool.Most patients are already in the advanced or terminal stage when they are diagnosed.Left colon cancer accounts for about 5%6% of all colon cancers.The principle of treatment is comprehensive treatment based on surgical resection.The radical resection of laparoscopic left hemicolectomy includes left transverse colon，descending colon and most sigmoid colon.The current status and related progress of laparoscopic left hemicolectomy were analyzed.
